Rebecca Ketelsen

Sun Prairie Education Foundation Appoints First Ever Executive Director

The Sun Prairie Education Foundation (SPEF) proudly announces the selection of Rebecca Ketelsen as its first Executive Director for the nonprofit organization.  Governed by a Board of Trustees, the mission of SPEF is to enhance the education of students in the Sun Prairie Area School District and the Sun Prairie community.  The Executive Director is the visible, positive representative for SPEF and is responsible for year-round financial growth and organizational development, reporting directly to its board.

Rebecca Ketelsen comes to this position with a degree in Arts Administration and Nonprofit Management from Indiana University, combined with over 20 years of nonprofit management experience in the Sun Prairie community.  As an active member of the Sun Prairie Exchange Club, the Sun Prairie Business Improvement District Events Committee, the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Council, and the Sun Prairie Dream Park, Ketelsen has continued to develop her comprehensive skills in fundraising, managing volunteers, writing grants, collaborating across diverse backgrounds, and coordinating large scale events.  Serving as the Executive Director, Rebecca Ketelsen will build relationships and offer support to Foundation donors, ensure that SPEF policies and procedures are followed, and strive to achieve its stated goals and outcomes.

Rebecca Ketelsen will begin this important work on July 16.  SPEF’s Board of Trustees strongly believes under Ketelsen’s leadership, the organization’s success and impact in achieving its mission and vision will flourish.

The Sun Prairie Education Foundation’s vision is to build a community of energized educators who invest in the future by enhancing the education of its children.  Since 2006, SPEF has awarded over one million grant dollars to inspired educators in the Sun Prairie School District and community, and just this last year awarded an additional 45 grants totalling over $200,000.
